On May 2nd, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm, Corrections Staff at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center discovered that Natchitoches Parish Inmate Derrick L. Evans was not present for count time according to Natchitoches Parish Detention Center Chief of Corrections Deputy Calvin McFerrin.

An immediate search was conducted and it was confirmed that Evans was missing from his work crew assignment on the farm of the detention center.

Natchitoches Parish authorities are currently investigating leads to his whereabouts.

Authorities are looking for:

Derrick L. Evans, 29, B/M, Hgt/511, Wgt/158, Hai/Bald, Eyes/Brown, with a Medium complexion, with tattoos on his left arm, right arm, and neck, last seen wearing blue denim jeans, and a detention center light-blue shirt.

Evans is a Department of Corrections offender serving time for Attempted Manslaughter and Possession of a Firearm by a Person convicted of a Felony.

Evans is considered to be dangerous.
